10th November 2009 – River Cottage visit LVCF!
On the 10th of November the farm welcomed its first celebrity guest when Hugh

31st October 2009 - LVCF holds first Open Day to raise funds for the project!
On Halloween the farm opened its gates officially to the public for the first time. The team welcomed over 250 visitors in just a few short hours proving the popularity of the project and the desire of people to get involved.
There was an opportunity to meet the animals, chat to the team and try out many Halloween themed activities such as pumpkin carving, fancy dress and facepainting. Wellying wanging (throwing) was also popular with the longest throw of the day being recorded as 60 foot!
Overall the day raised approximately £500 so a big thank you to everyone who came and supported us. Some of the the funds have been allocated to our Education & Outreach committee who are currently developing a programme of events for the coming year as well as working with schools and other community groups to allow greater public access to the farm. More details about these will be announced on the website as they become available.
