Locally
Central to the aims of Loxley Valley Community Farm is to promote the benefits of locally produced food. With this in mind we are developing our education and outreach programme to enable more people to get involved with the project. We are currently discussing how the local primary school can get involved on the farm and hope to welcome them onto the site early in the New Year. We have also been approached by several local groups working with individuals with physical and mental difficulties and we are working hard to make the farm a safe environment for them to come and volunteer, make new friends and become part of a community
Nationally
We are also keen to help other groups set up on a similar basis. We are always happy to welcome site visits from interested parties and answer questions although as we are not on site all the time please contact us to book a suitable time. We do not pretend to be experts and have only been established for a short time however we will freely share what knowledge we do have! The model we have works for us and we believe could be replicated elsewhere relatively easily.
